When I was a kid, we had an OLD 1950s radio/record player/short wave console that used tubes, and the sound was rich and clear. Since the 90s all I have had was digital equipment and amps. I spent an large sum on a sound bar and subwoofer for my TV and other audio/video equipment, and thought that sounded great. Well, I was wrong.This little amplifier is driving my old Advent Laureate tower speakers, using my internet radio playing Pandora, and it sounds like the musicians are in the room with me. I can hear things you just cannot make out with digital equipment for similar prices. I am waiting for the system to break in before I really crank it, but to be honest, I don't have to. Color me pleasantly surprised.Thanks Quinpu for making a great little tube amp for a good price.UPDATE: The unit has been running every day since I purchased it ( and have since bought its little brother the Q-2 to run my iMac's sound through... VERY happy with the sound. Its really amazing what a tube amp can do to the sound, and I am pleased with both. Even my family has noticed the difference. Considering buying one to drive my TV with instead of the sound bar. ( BTW: the Q-2 does a great job driving my headphones. the ONLY downside that I can see, is that you have to wait for the tubes to warm up, and its ok, since Quinpu decided to put blue LEDs to let you know when the tube is ready... Still, you get used to instant on these days, but hey for these price points, I can live with a minute wait for better sound.
